How Many Surface Treatment Process Do you Know?

Surface treatment is very important for steel processing, not only Precision Machining Parts, Die Casting Products but also for Precision machining parts. Then how many surface treatment processes do you know? Today, we will share with you some important kinds of surface treatment processes. Let's check together. Come on!

(1) Micro arc oxidation

Micro-arc oxidation, also known as micro-plasma oxidation, is through the combination of electrolyte and corresponding electrical parameters, on the surface of aluminum, magnesium, titanium and its alloys, relying on the instantaneous high temperature and high pressure generated by arc discharge to grow matrix metal oxides of the ceramic membrane.

(2) Metal wire drawing
Metal wire drawing is a surface treatment method that forms lines on the surface of the workpiece by grinding the product, which has a decorative effect.

(3) Burn blue
Blue-burning is to fill the entire carcass with colored glaze, and then bake it in a blast furnace with a furnace temperature of about 800 °C. At this time, the color glaze is lower than the height of the copper wire, so the color glaze must be filled again, and then fired, usually four or five times in a row, until the pattern is filled to the level of the filigree pattern.
(4) Shot peening
Shot peening is a cold working process in which the surface of the workpiece is bombarded with pellets and the residual compressive stress is implanted to improve the fatigue strength of the workpiece.

(5) Sandblasting
Sand blasting is a process of cleaning and roughening the surface of the substrate by using the impact of high-speed sand flow, that is, using compressed air as power to form a high-speed jet beam to spray materials (copper ore sand, quartz sand, emery, iron sand, Hainan sand) at high speed. To the surface of the workpiece to be treated, the appearance or shape of the outer surface of the workpiece surface is changed.

(6)Etching
Etching is a technique in which material is removed using chemical reactions or physical impact. Usually referred to as etching, also known as photochemical etching, it refers to the removal of the protective film in the area to be etched after exposure to plate making and development, and contact with chemical solutions during etching to achieve the effect of dissolution and corrosion, forming concave-convex or hollow molding.

(7) OMD

OMD Out Mold Decoration (Out Mold Decoration) for short, is a visual, tactile, functional integration display, the decoration technology extended by IMD, is a 3D surface decoration technology that combines printing, texture structure and metallization characteristics.

(8) EDM
Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is a special machining method that uses the electro-erosion effect generated by the pulse discharge between the two poles immersed in the working fluid to erode conductive materials, also known as electrical discharge machining or electro-erosion machining, English abbreviation EDM. Electrocorrosion-resistant materials such as copper, graphite, copper-tungsten alloy and molybdenum are commonly used for tool electrodes with good electrical conductivity, high melting point and easy processing. During the machining process, the tool electrode is also lost, but it is less than the amount of metal removal of the workpiece, and even close to no loss.

(8)Pad printing
Pad printing is one of the special printing methods, that is, steel (or copper, thermoplastic) gravure is used, and a curved pad printing head made of silicone rubber material is used to dip the ink on the gravure onto the surface of the pad printing head, and then to the surface of the pad printing head. Text, patterns, etc. can be printed by pressing the surface of the desired object.

(9) Screen printing
Screen printing is to stretch silk fabric, synthetic fiber fabric or metal mesh on the screen frame, and use the method of hand-carved paint film or photochemical plate making to make screen printing plate. Modern screen printing technology uses photosensitive materials to make screen printing plates by means of photolithography (so that the screen holes in the graphic part of the screen printing plate are through holes, and the screen holes in the non-graphic part are blocked. live). During printing, through the extrusion of the squeegee, the ink is transferred to the substrate through the mesh of the graphic part to form the same graphic as the original.

(10) Thermal transfer printing

The principle of thermal transfer printing is to print the digital pattern on the special transfer paper with special transfer ink through the printer, and then use the special transfer machine to accurately transfer the pattern to the surface of the product at high temperature and high pressure to complete the product printing system.

(11)Flat screen printing
For flat screen printing, the printing die is a polyester or nylon screen (pattern) fixed on a square frame with a hollow pattern. The color paste can be penetrated at the patterned part of the flower plate, and the mesh is closed with a polymer film layer at the non-patterned part. When printing, the pattern plate is pressed against the fabric, the color paste is placed on the pattern plate, and the scraper is used to scrape and press back and forth, so that the color paste penetrates the pattern and reaches the surface of the fabric.

(12) Hot stamping
Hot stamping, commonly known as "hot stamping", refers to the words and patterns of materials such as color foils are hot stamped on the first or fourth cover and the back of the hardcover book cover, or various convex and concave book titles or patterns are stamped by hot pressing.

(13) Curved printing
Curved printing is to first put the ink into the engraved text or pattern gravure, then copy the text or pattern to the curved surface, and then use the curved surface to transfer the text or pattern to the surface of the molded product, and finally make it through heat treatment or ultraviolet light irradiation and other methods make the ink cures.
